The Living Miracle
On the 13th of Rajab, twenty-three years before the migration of the Prophet (peace be upon him and his pure progeny) a child was born in the family of Abu Talib (peace be upon him). Ka’nab narrates: "Me and Abbas (Ibne Abdul Mutalib) were sitting together when suddenly we saw Fatima bint-Asad (peace be upon her) moving towards the Ka’ba while having delivery pain and saying "O, God! I have faith in you and your Prophet, who by your command laid the foundation of this house. O, God! For the sake of the same Prophet (peace be upon him) and for the sake of the child in my womb make this birth easy for me."
This was the time when all of us saw with our own eyes that the wall of Ka’ba split open and Fatima bint-Asad (peace be upon her) entered into the Ka’ba. Then the wall again united. We were terrified and tried our best to open the door of the Ka’ba but it was futile. After a few days, Lady Fatima came out of the Ka’ba along with a beautiful baby, saying, "God has chosen me from among the ladies of Mecca and He made me His guest in His house and gave me meals and fruits of the heaven to eat.
When asked about the name of the child, she replied, “When I was in the Ka’ba, I heard a voice saying, ‘Name this child ALI’. I have derived his name from My name. I have raised him by My morals and etiquettes and, bestowed him My knowledge. Blessed is he who loves him and obeys him, woe to one who hates him and does not obey him."
The effects of this miracle are still visible to those who are blessed to visit the house of God.
This indeed is yet another sign for everyone concerning the status and position of Imam Ali (peace be upon him). No one else has been blessed with this favor by God.
