On the 1st of Dhi al-Qa’dah, the house of Imam Kadhim (peace be upon him) was filled with joy as Allah had blessed him with a daughter.  The Imam named her Fatimah, due to the love and affection he had for his grandmother, Lady Fatimah, the daughter of the Holy Prophet (peace be upon him and his pure progeny).

Her lofty status can be understood by the fact that Imam Sadiq, Imam Ridha, and Imam Taqi (peace be upon them) remembered her by the title of al- Ma’sumah (the infallible).

She was able to attain such an esteemed status due to her compliance with the satisfaction of the Imam of her time. Her level of knowledge was to such an extent that when a group of people came to Imam Kadhim (peace be upon him) to ask a few questions but were dismayed by the absence of the Imam, the lady took the questions and provided the answers to them. On their way back, they saw the Imam and showed him the answers provided by his daughter upon which the Imam took the sheet of answer in his hand, smiled, and three times repeated, ‘may her father be sacrificed for her’.

Her status is so esteemed that Imam Ridha (peace be upon him) says, ‘whosoever visits her is as if he has visited me.’ Similarly, Imam Taqi (peace be upon him) says, ‘paradise is incumbent upon the one who visits my aunt in Qom’.

Her intercession has been guaranteed by the Infallible Imams. Imam Sadiq (peace be upon him) says, ‘all of our Shias will attain paradise through her intercession’.

May Allah include us amongst the Shia and bless us with the intercession of this magnanimous lady (peace be upon her).

On this day of joy and happiness, we ask Allah to hasten the reappearance of our Imam and increase our knowledge and help us comply with his commands.
