The era of the Imamate of Imam Sadiq peace be upon him is very important in the history of Islam. One of the important reasons for this is the decline of the Umayyad dynasty and the coming to power of the Abbasid government. Due to the vacuum of power which had been created, the Imam peace be upon him was able to preach Islam more than any other of his predecessors. Imam Sadiq (peace be upon him) holds an esteemed place and is highly respected in Sunni jurisprudence as well. It is narrated that he had more than four thousand disciples. Therefore, most of the traditions of the Ahl al-Bayt peace be upon them are narrated from Imam Sadiq peace be upon him and this is the reason why the Shias came to be known as Ja’fari.

We, as the believers and the followers of our beloved Imam, have a heavy responsibility to live according to his teachings and hold his name high. Advising the Shias, the Imam said: ‘(Shias) Be a source of adornment for us and not a source of reproach or rebuke, speak good, protect your tongue and refrain from exaggeration and foul speech. ’

In general, there is a kind of practical obligation in the word Shia itself. Shias are called Shias because they followed the Holy Prophet (PBUH&HP) and the Commander of the Faithful and the Imams (peace be upon them) in speech, deeds, and morals. Faith requires real action. If there is no action, it indicates that faith is also weak.

On this auspicious occasion, we ask Allah (s) to hasten the reappearance of our Imam and help us be amongst his sincere helpers, supporters, and a source of adornment for him.
