Imam Sadiq (peace be upon him) Online Seminary offers Heartfelt Condolences on the Martyrdom Anniversary of Imam Ali ibn Muhammad al-Hadi (peace be upon him)
Ahmad Ibn Dawud says: I owed some Khums money as well some vows which I wanted to deliver to Imam Ali Naqi (also known as Imam Hadi, peace be upon him). I was on my way to meet the Imam when I saw a camel rider coming towards me. He said, ‘I have a letter for you from your master, Imam Hadi (peace be upon him).’
The Imam has addressed you in it saying, ‘Tonight I will leave this world for my heavenly abode, so be aware! until you hear from my son, Hasan (peace be upon him).’
Ahmad says that as soon as I heard the news, my heart was filled with great sorrow and I cried aloud.
It was on the 3rd of Rajab in the year 254 AH that the letter was delivered to Ahmad and the prediction of the Imam was realized. We, the Shias alongside Ahmad ibn Dawud mourn the martyrdom of our beloved Imam and offer our condolences to the Imam of Our Time (may Allah hasten his reappearance).
