Peace be upon you, O the oppressed one whose right was usurped

 Medina Mourns

In mere 75 days from the martyrdom of the Holy Prophet, Medina witnessed many tragedies, from the nail of the door to the broken ribs of his daughter, Fatimah.

The oppression done to the Lady familiarized Medina with her cries during the days and deep into the nights. But today, that heartbreaking sound could not be heard, as Fatimah, the beloved daughter of the holy prophet, part ways with this world.

 Absolute silence

The household of Ali, still reeling from this sudden shock, went into complete silence. In the midst of the dark night, this silence was broken by the sobs of Imam Ali who, sitting by the side of the Lady, started speaking about his loneliness. “O Fatimah! To whom shall I confide in after you?”. The bravest of all with trembles and tears in his eyes called out to his children; “O Um Kulthum, Zainab, Sakina, Hasan, Husain, Fizzah, come forward and bid farewell to your mother for this is the time of separation and our next meeting will be in paradise...”

Cries of the people of heaven

Hasanain threw themselves in the arms of their mother and cried, ‘O mother! After the martyrdom of the holy prophet, how can we stand your departure! Surely we have been orphaned after you!’. Hearing their cries, the angels cried as well. An angel solicited Imam Ali to console Hasanain as the angels couldn’t witness the heart-wrenching scene.

The avenger of Fatimah (a)

Indeed, today is a day of great sorrow, the pain of which will never cease. The only aid which reduces the agony is the divine Guarantee that a day will come when the oppressors will come to know that what they have done, and for them would be a painful chastisement.

We ask Allah to hasten the reappearance of the avenger of the blood of Fatimah, the daughter of His prophet (peace and blessing be upon them)
